Chelsea defender Alex looks set to continue for another season in Holland with PSV Eindhoven.
The 24-year-old Brazilian has been loaned out to the Philips Stadion for the past two seasons, but it had been thought he might return to The Premiership.
Instead though, he has taken part in pre-season training with Ronald Koeman's men, and should continue his career in the Eredivisie.
PSV still maintain that more details need to be tied up before a deal is secured, but the indications are good for the Dutch outfit.
Alex made 35 league and UEFA Champions League appearances for the club last season, scoring two goals in that time, and was integral to the club's title triumph.
Koeman has already stated his desire to keep the player, as the team once again prepare to do battle on the domestic and European fronts.
