Juan Sebastian Veron will make a decision on his future next week, after his agent spoke with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
The Argentinian midfielder spent last season on loan at Internazionale from Chelsea, where he made over 30 appearances for Roberto Mancini's side.
Veron's agent Fernando Hidalgo has been in negotiations with Abramovich this week and the 31-year-old says he will know more about his future at the start of next week.
Estudiantes, River Plate and Boca Juniors are all keen to sign the former Manchester United man, but are waiting on Chelsea's decision regarding his future.
"I think I will know on Monday where I will be playing next season," said Veron.
"It all depends on what Hidalgo brings back from London, where he is in negotiations with Chelsea.
"There is a chance I will be playing at Estudiantes, but it's not up to me because I am in the middle. There are some things to be resolved with Chelsea.
"If everything is resolved in a positive way, then Estudiantes will have the priority to sign me.
"If there isn't an agreement with Estudiantes then I will have to choose another team in Argentina and return to Estudiantes when I can."
