Wise eyes new number one

Dennis Wise is looking for a new goalkeeper after Rhys Evans joined Blackpool.

New Swindon boss Dennis Wise is looking for a new goalkeeper after Rhys Evans completed a move to Blackpool.

The former England Under-21 goalkeeper has agreed a two-year deal with The Seasiders.

"This is an excellent signing, the arrival of Rhys gives us two quality keepers to choose from. I want competition across every department," said Blackpool boss Simon Grayson.

"We have worked hard to bring the lad here, there were a lot of clubs at a higher level looking at Rhys and it is always pleasing to see such work pay off."

Wise could now turn his attention to two of his former clubs Chelsea and Millwall for goalkeeping options.

Andy Marshall and Lenny Pidgeley are both thought to be under consideration as Wise looks for a new number one at The County Ground.

Marshall, 31, and 22-year-old Pidgeley are available on free transfers after being released by Millwall and Chelsea respectively.
