Eidur Gudjohnsen's father and agent has told skysports.com that he is in talks with Chelsea about his son's future.
The Chelsea striker has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge of late, having fallen down Jose Mourinho's pecking order towards the end of the season.
Despite the fact Gudjohnsen has always been a key player in Mourinho's thoughts, often operating in midfield this season, there has still been talk of a possible summer departure.
Blackburn have been credited with a strong interest, with some reports even claiming Gudjohnsen had met with officials at Ewood Park after Chelsea's game there last Tuesday.
This, though, has now been denied by Arnor Gudjohnsen, who acts as his son's agent.
''It's not true, we have not had contact with Blackburn,'' he told skysports.com.
Whilst refuting claims that he had been in contact with Blackburn, Gudjohnsen snr does concede that he is currently in dialogue with Chelsea about his son's future.
''We are still in contact with Chelsea about his future and hopefully by the end of this week we'll have clarification.''
Gudjohnsen, who has proven to be one of The Premiership's most accomplished performers over the past couple of seasons, would have a host of suitors if indeed he ever became available for transfer, but it remains to be seen what Chelsea's plans are for the classy Icelander.
