Lamps to ignore lure of Real

Frank Lampard will ignore interest from Real Madrid to stay at Chelsea.

Frank Lampard's agent insists that his client is determined to stay with Chelsea and win more silverware under Jose Mourinho, after Spanish giants Real Madrid reputedly tabled a bid for the England star.

Reports in the English press suggest that Los Merengues had an approach turned down for the former West Ham man, with the offer comprising £20 million plus England striker Michael Owen and Argentine winger Santiago Solari.

Lampard confirmed his status as one of world football's most impressive performers as he secured the Footballer of the Year award in a season in which Chelsea claimed their first league title for 50 years as well as the Carling Cup.

Under Portuguese boss Mourinho Chelsea have proven themselves to be a formidable force in both domestic and European football, with the 27-year-old midfielder acting as the lynchpin of the side as well as chipping in with an impressive 19 goals last season.

Lampard's agent Steve Kutner has now confirmed that Real are interested in his client, although stated that the England star is determined to help fill Roman Abramovich's expanding trophy room.

"It's very flattering for Frank to be wanted by a club as big as Real Madrid," Kutner told the News of the World.

"But Frank has just participated in an incredible season at Chelsea and so long as they continue to want him he'll be giving everything he can to help them win more and more trophies."

The reported offer would also indicate that Owen is viewed as expendable at the Bernabeu despite impressing towards the end of last season as he claimed 13 goals in La Liga.

Manchester United, as well as Chelsea, have been heavily linked with a summer move for the former Liverpool star and this latest development could put his future in Spain in some doubt.
