Lyon defender Eric Abidal says that he wants to stay with the French champions despite interest from Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho has set his sights on Abidal, who has just helped Lyon secure their fourth consecutive title in a row in France.

A ‚é¼20 million offer could be making its way from Stamford Bridge in the near future, but Abidal would rather stay at Stade Gerland.

Former Lille man Abidal says that he does not want to swap Lyon for Chelsea, but admits that Roman Abramovich's billions often persuade clubs to sell their players.

"I am fine at Lyon," said Abidal. "I have signed for five years so I won't play just one season and then leave.

"I am flattered that such a great club has an interest in me, but I know my club does not want to sell.

"Knowing the Chelsea politics, I know when the officials decide to get someone, they do anything to succeed. I hope to go on with the adventure at Lyon, but it is true last year Didier Drogba wished to go on at l'OM too."

Chelsea are also monitoring St Etienne star Didier Zokora, with the Ivory Coast ace keen to leave for a bigger club.

Monaco and Lyon are also interested in the 24-year-old, and he would prefer to remain in France rather than move to England.
