Barcelona midfielder Xavi is reported to have been added to Chelsea's summer shopping list.

The Blues, like most sides, are busy compiling their list of potential targets and Spanish starlet Xavi has emerged as a possible signing for Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho knows Xavi from his days at Camp Nou and is thought to be a huge fan.

Xavi's current deal at Barca runs until 2007 and the Catalan giants are planning talks with his agent Ivan Corretja to try and fend off any potential interest from elsewhere.

The 25-year-old Spanish international has been with Barca since his was 11 and it would take a lot of persuading for him to leave, but Chelsea might be the team to do it.

At least one midfield arrival at Stamford Bridge seems likely this summer.

A number of midfielders have already been linked with possible moves to Chelsea including Benfica's Manuel Fernandez, Gianluca Zambrotta and Betis' Joaquin.
