Out-of-favour Chelsea star Geremi has urged the club to sell him, with Middlesbrough the obvious destination for the Cameroon international.

Geremi has found himself on the sidelines at Stamford Bridge, and admits he is looking to leave the club.

The Blues have insisted that they will not be looking to offload any players this winter, but Geremi is keen to move on.

"I'm not satisfied at Chelsea because I am not playing," said Geremi.

"(Jose) Mourinho is not giving me opportunities and I do not like being on the bench.

"I would prefer to leave and the option of Middlesbrough is excellent, because I have great memories of my stay there."

Middlesbrough are believed to be happy to entertain the notion of a return of a player that became a firm favourite during his last spell at the club.

Meanwhile, young defender Tony McMahon has turned down a first offer of a new contract at Middlesbrough.

McMahon has had a major impact this season, stepping up to the first team and not looking out of place in The Premiership.

The teenager is believed to be seeking a better deal at Boro and not looking to leave the Teesside club.

Middlesbrough have also been credited with an interest in Bobo Balde from Celtic and Roma's Olivier Dacourt.
