Anghel Iordanescu has offered Adrian Mutu the chance to work with Romania.Romania coach Anghel Iordanescu has offered disgraced striker Adrian Mutu the chance to work with the national team.
The former Chelsea striker is currently out of work after being sacked but cannot play due to a seven-month ban for a positive drugs test.
However, while Mutu cannot play, he can coach, and Iordanescu is hoping the striker links up with the national team in order to help the side.
It remains to be seen of the offer is taken as his agent Gheorghe Popescu has claimed the ace is ready to join a new club in a matter of weeks.
"I have invited him to join the national team during his back to become my assistant coach," explained Iordanescu to the News of the World.
"He is suspended as a player, but can work from the dugout. He could be valuable to us.
"I am sure Adrian will come back from this and we want to help him. The boy just needs help."
