Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann has added Chelsea youngster Robert Huth and Bayern Munich veteran Thomas Linke to his squad to face Austria on Wednesday.

Klinsmann was forced to make changes to his original squad after Hertha Berlin defender Arne Friedrich and Bayer Leverkusen stopper Jens Nowotny pulled out with injuries at the weekend.

Under-21 international Huth, who gained valuable UEFA Champions League experience with Chelsea last season, is the second new face in Klinsmann's first squad following Werder Bremen defender Frank Fahrenhorst's call-up.

The 20-year-old is part of Jose Mourinho's plans at Stamford Bridge after being denied a loan exit to Aston Villa, but faces stern competition from the likes of John Terry, William Gallas and Ricardo Carvalho for a first team place.

Linke's surprising recall is his first inclusion for two years. The former Schalke hard-man, who was part of Germany's successful 2002 World Cup squad, last played for his country against Lithuania in September 2002.
