Juve end Mutu interest

Juventus' general manager Luciano Moggi has revealed to skysports.com that their proposed move for Chelsea's Adrian Mutu is dead.

Juventus' general manager Luciano Moggi has revealed to skysports.com that their proposed move for Chelsea's Adrian Mutu is dead.

The proposed loan move for Mutu fell through on Friday after both clubs failed to agree terms of the deal.

Mutu has now returned to Chelsea and it seems the Romanian will start the season at Stamford Bridge.

Moggi revealed Chelsea offered Mutu to Juventus and Chelsea's terms saw the move fall through.

"The deal would only be done at our conditions," Moggi told skysports.com.

"I want to say that we never asked for Mutu, it was Chelsea who proposed him to us.

"Yes we want Mutu, but it is not our pure priority.

"We wanted him on loan, with the option to buy him next summer. Chelsea said no, so we stopped the deal.

Moggi also revealed Juve will not try to rekindle a deal and will stick with the squad they have at their disposal.

"No, because as I said it is Chelsea that won't send him on loan, and we do not need him," added Moggi.

"He is not a priority for us, even if he is a great player.

"It is no problem we will go ahead with our strikers."

Meanwhile, Serie A new boys Fiorentina are reported to be planning a move for Mutu.

The Viola are looking to bolster their attack and they could offer Mutu the chance to return to Italy.
