Cudicini out for a month

Chelsea keeper Carlo Cudicini has been ruled out for a month with a broken hand.

The Italian looks set to miss the UEFA Champions League quarter final ties with Arsenal and is, of course, out of the trip to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

With Neil Sullivan injuring a thigh in reserve team action, third choice Marco Ambrosio is to step into the breach at The Reebok Stadium in the live Sky Sports encounter.

Cudicini has been in excellent form for The Blues this term, helping ensure the West Londoners have the second-best defensive record in The Premiership, and his absence will be sorely felt by Claudio Ranieri.

The Blues have registered Yves Makabu-Makalambay with the Premier League as the full extent of their number one's injury has been revealed.
