Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly has revealed he has no intention of moving on from Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The veteran Frenchman is in the twilight of his career and injuries have hampered his progress this term.

He has now returned to fitness, but John Terry and William Gallas have forged a good understanding at the heart of Chelsea's defence - often leaving him a frustrated spectator from the bench.

A lucrative offer from the Middle East has reportedly filtered its way through to Desailly, but he insists he has no plans to leave Chelsea in the summer despite recently travelling to the Gulf.

"I have an exciting season to finish at Chelsea this year and another one to follow next year," said Desailly who has a further season to run on his Stamford Bridge deal.

"I signed a new deal at the start of this season and it was not for nothing. At my age I am not going to turn everything upside down.

"I am happy in London at present. I went to the Gulf to check on a property deal."

Despite saying he is happy at Chelsea, reported talk of a new defender arriving at Stamford Bridge is unlikely to please Desailly.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich appears to have limitless funds and it is being suggested Chelsea are planning a summer raid on Roma for Walter Samuel.

Argentine international Samuel is regarded as one of the best central defenders on the planet and his rugged style of play would appear well suited to life in The Premiership.

Roma's financial situation is far from secure and a huge offer from Chelsea could tempt them to sell Samuel if it allows them to hang on to the likes of Francesco Totti.
