NEW Juventus president Franzo Grande Stevens has marked his territory at Stadio Delle Alpi by insisting that Edgar Davids's future must be resolved and that he must force his way back in the team.
The combative Dutch midfielder's contract with the Serie A champions expires next summer and Grande Stevens said the club simply can not allow him to walk away for nothing, and hopes to open negotiations soon about extending his stay in Turin.
Chelsea and Roma were linked with a move for the former Milan and Ajax star during the summer, and the new Juve chief urged the player to force his way back into Marcello Lippi's team.
"At the moment, nobody knows which way to turn. Davids must play and he must play by force. He gets paid for this and for this reason he must work."
