Croatia name squad for Slovenia

A TRIO of English-based players have been named in Croatia's squad for their World Cup warm-up against Slovenia next Wednesday.

Middlesbrough striker Alen Boksic is in the 18-man party for the friendly, along with Chelsea midfielder Mario Stanic and Portsmouth playmaker Robert Prosinecki.

Croatian coach Mirko Jozic has been forced to overlook Tomislav Maric and Sasa Bjelanovic due to injury while Zvonomir Soldo and Goran Vlaovic have been omitted.

Both countries have qualified for the World Cup finals in Japan and South Korea and the contest between the two nations should provide some intriguing pointers towards the tournament.
