Campbell out for Everton

THE quarter finals of the FA Cup take place this weekend with four mouthwatering clashes whetting the appetite of the English footballing public.

Although there are no games kicking off at 3pm on Saturday, which will upset the traditionalists, fireworks are expected in the day's only FA Cup encounter between Newcastle and Arsenal.

The 5.35pm clash allows the home side to exact revenge for their comprehensive 2-0 defeat to The Gunners last weekend, and, following the 3-0 beating at the hands of Liverpool, the Axa-sponsored competition probably now offers Bobby Robson's side their best chance of silverware this term.

The remaining three games take place on Sunday, with all of them live on television, as Middlesbrough entertain Everton, Tottenham take on Chelsea in an eagerly-anticipated all-London affair, and the Nationwide League's sole representative, West Brom, tackle Fulham.

Arsenal are set to welcome Swedish star Freddie Ljungberg back into their squad, but Thierry Henry starts his three-match suspension, after The Gunners decided not to appeal against the ban.

The Frenchman had been due to start his enforced absence on March 21.

Arsene Wenger will be confident of winning at St James' Park again without his star striker, who sat out the 2-0 win last Saturday through injury.

Bobby Robson has problems in midfield with Jermaine Jenas cup-tied and Gary Speed out with a hamstring strain, while Craig Bellamy and Kieron Dyer are still injured.

Laurent Robert may be worth a flutter to score the first goal at 12/1 as the Frenchman may be shifted into an attacking role alongside Alan Shearer.

Boro skipper Paul Ince returns to the home side's midfield, and is 14/1 to score first, after recovering from injury, but Benito Carbone is cup-tied.

The Italian's absence could give a chance to Szilard Nemeth or young Luke Wilkshire, who played in the 1-1 draw at Southampton in midweek.

Ugo Ehiogu is suspended, with Robbie Stockdale standing by to step in.

Everton boss Walter Smith has confirmed he will be unable to call upon captain Kevin Campbell, who suffered an ankle injury against West Ham, while Mark Pembridge, Steve Watson, Duncan Ferguson and Gary Naysmith are all missing.

Former Boro man Paul Gascoigne is hoping for a recall, and he, like his old England midfield partner Ince, is also 14/1 to break the deadlock.

Chris Armstrong and Stephen Carr are on the comeback trail but will not be considered for the London derby.

Spurs have a terrible record against Chelsea, but they thumped Claudio Ranieri's men 5-1 in the Worthington Cup this season, and will be hopeful of making up for their disappointment in the final of that competition in Cardiff.

Darren Anderton may still be missing for Glenn Hoddle, who does battle against his former side, but Les Ferdinand should start after coming on as a substitute against Manchester United.

Ferdinand is 6/1 to score first.

Chelsea have fewer selection problems, although Mario Stanic is suspended and defender John Terry is out through injury.

Finnish finisher Mikael Forssell, who has scored in every round of the cup run so far, is 7/1 to draw first blood on Sunday.

West Brom (15/8) v Fulham (5/4)

West Brom have built their success on a solid defence this season but influential stopper Darren Moore faces a late fitness test on a calf strain.

Fulham welcome Sylvain Legwinski back after suspension but Sean Davis is doubtful.

Jean Tigana's side lack of potency could ensure a tight game at The Hawthorns, and a goalless draw is 7/1 with Ladbrokes.
