GOALS from Marcel Desailly and Jon Harley were enough for The Blues to take all three points at home to lowly Watford.
French World Cup winning defender Desailly took just two minutes to put Gianluca Vialli`s side in front.
Watford, who battled gamely throughout the match, equalised through striker Allan Smart after 39 minutes and had chances to take the lead before half-time.
Chelsea, however, started better in the second-half and young left back Jon Harley put the Stamford Bridge outfit back in front on 65 minutes.
French midfielder Didier Deschamps crossed to Harley, who headed home from close range.
Chelsea are now just one point behind third placed Arsenal and clearly have a great chance of Champions League qualification.
