Dutch stars Robin van Persie and Memphis Depay were among the Manchester United players to arrive at Carrington on Monday as the club began preparations for the new season..

Van Persie’s future with the club is in doubt after Sky Bet suspended betting on the striker joining Turkish club Fenerbahce following a run of bets at short odds.

That did not stop the 31-year-old striker - who has one year left on the four-year deal he signed after joining from Arsenal - reporting for training ahead of United's four-match tour of the United States.

He was joined by compatriot Depay who had the opportunity to link up with his new team-mates for the first time since completing his move from Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven.

Unsettled goalkeeper David de Gea landed at Manchester Airport at 1:30am on Monday morning as he prepared to return to training.

The Spanish goalkeeper is a priority target for Real Madrid but United are reluctant to sell their prized asset.

According to Sky sources, United have made a bid of £28.6m for Real defender Sergio Ramos and the World Cup winner has informed the club he is keen to leave and join United.

However Real are similarly reluctant to sell and the clubs are at an impasse regarding the two players.
