Monaco striker Radamel Falcao says he is unaware of any interest from Real Madrid and insists he is focused on playing his football in France.

The 28-year-old, who only joined Monaco from Atletico Madrid last summer, has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu despite missing the last six months with a serious knee ligament injury.

Having failed in his fitness battle to make the summer’s World Cup with Colombia, Falcao returned to action at the Emirates Cup and scored the only goal of the game as Monaco beat hosts Arsenal 1-0.

Colombian team-mate James Rodriguez has already swapped Monaco for Madrid in a big-money switch this summer, but Falcao maintains his sights are set only on the Ligue 1 side amid much speculation.

"I don’t know anything. I am only focused on the sporting project of my team," he told the French media.

"I am not thinking about any team other than Monaco so far.

"I just wanted to be back on the pitch and I am happy to have been able to do it."

Monaco vice-chairman, Vadim Vasilyev, spoke of his delight at seeing Falcao’s comeback from injury and is confident the striker will be present for the new campaign.

"We are very happy for him. He endured six difficult months," he said.

"He missed the World Cup and we remained beside him during that time. I, the chairman and all the technical staff talked with him.

"He showed he is a great player and he has recovered from that serious injury. We rely on him.

"The 2014/15 season will be the one of Falcao at Monaco."
