Robin van Persie says there is more to come from his partnership with Wayne Rooney after the Manchester United strikers tore Stoke apart on Saturday.
The 4-2 win over the Potters marked only the third time this season that Rooney and Van Persie have both been in the United starting XI.
But there were signs that the pair are forging a lethal partnership with Rooney scoring twice and Van Persie adding another while the pair were credited with assists for three of United's four goals.
"We are definitely getting more of an understanding," Van Persie said. "We like to play together and work well together.
"It is only the second or third time we have played in this formation but offensively and defensively, we help each other out.
"We do look exciting going forward. We can score all sorts of goals from many different angles. That is a good sign and should be a real weapon for us as the season goes on."
