Manchester United have confirmed that they are to take on Spanish giants Barcelona in a pre-season friendly in Gothenburg on August 8.
The two clubs are familiar with each other having met in two of the previous four UEFA Champions League finals as well as the 2008 semi-final.
They also met in Washington last summer as part of their preparations for the 2011/12 season, with United winning that contest 2-1.
"Manchester United against Barcelona is one of the top fixtures in world football and we are delighted to bring this match to the beautiful city of Gothenburg," said United chief executive David Gill.
"We have a large following throughout Scandinavia and it's great that this match will form part of our preparations for the new season."
