Spaniard blasts Brazilian right-back

David de Gea has slammed the Man United defence calling them 'sleepy' after Iker Muniain pounced for Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League. The Red Devils suffered defeat on home turf in the first leg of the tie following a series of defensive lapses, most notably from a static Rafael da Silva who failed to track Muniain as he stole in at the back-post for Bilbao's third goal. Up until then the much-maligned de Gea had helped to keep United in the game with a string of superb saves but the Spanish shot-stopper was far from complimentary about his back four afterwards with the Premier League champions now needing to claw back a 3-2 deficit in Basque country next week. "For the third Athletic goal, the one Muniain scored, the defence was asleep," the 21-year-old said. "Rafael had fallen asleep. Some of my team-mates were a bit sleepy at Old Trafford. We played really badly and Athletic will beat you if you make it easy for them. "But we'll go to the San Mames Stadium to give it another go."
