Sunday's contest at Stamford Bridge gets the green light

Chelsea have confirmed Sunday's Premier League fixture against champions Manchester United will go ahead despite the cold snap. The cold weather has seen several sporting events postponed this weekend due to snow and frozen playing surfaces. The east Midlands derby between Derby and Nottingham Forest is off due to safety concerns, but the contest in London goes ahead. Chelsea said there were no major problems at Stamford Bridge and the game will be played at 4pm as scheduled.

"The Stamford Bridge site and surrounding area is being cleared of snow and local transport is working. "Kick-off is at 4pm. Supporters are advised to allow extra time for their journeys."
