Preston North End have confirmed that on-loan Matty James has returned to Manchester United.
The 19-year-old was in his second spell at the club after spending the best part of 2010 at Deepdale.
The England Under-20 international gained some valuable experience with the Lilywhites, making 30 appearances and scoring three goals, his first coming just 10 minutes into his debut.
James has yet to make a senior appearance for United since signing professional terms, but could be afforded more time due to his time playing in the Championship.
