Palermo new boy delighted with summer move

Palermo new boy Armin Bacinovic is determined to shine in Serie A after arriving from Maribor. The Slovenian midfielder was recruited along with compatriot Josip Ilcic in a double deal just before last week's transfer deadline. The pair impressed Palermo whilst playing for Maribor against the Sicilians in the play-off round for the Europa League. Palermo made it through 5-3 on aggregate but Bacinovic and Ilcic will not now be able to feature in continental competition this season. Bacinovic is nevertheless delighted to be embarking on a new challenge and hopes to take Italian football by storm. Speaking at his official unveiling, the 20-year-old said: "I feel ready for this new experience. I can't wait to start bringing my potential to light. "I have known of Fabio Liverani for many years and I am happy to finally have the chance to play with him and learn something. "I am sorry not to be able to play in the Europa League, but that's compensated by the emotion I feel in being part of this group."
