Manchester United winger Nani believes Portugal international team-mate Miguel Veloso has the ability to play for the Premier League champions.
Veloso has long been mooted as a target for United, with reports suggesting Sir Alex Ferguson is planning a summer bid for the midfielder.
The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have also been credited with an interest in the past and Nani feels Veloso is capable of making an impact in English football.
In addition to being international colleagues, Nani played alongside Veloso at Sporting Lisbon and is a fan of the 23-year-old.
He also feels that Veloso, who scored in both legs of Sporting's Europa League win over Everton, has the chance to leave his current club in the summer.
"I know there are many rumours regarding Manchester United's interest in Veloso, but I can't decide whether he comes," Nani is quoted in
The Sun.
"I know him well because he was a team-mate of mine and I know he has the quality to play for a club like United.
"The football here is hard, but he is someone who can do well at a big club and I know he has the opportunities to leave Sporting."
