United youngster set to remain at Sixfields

Northampton have reached an agreement with Manchester United which will see Ron-Robert Zieler remain at the club until the end of January. The 19-year-old initially joined the Cobblers on a short-term deal at the end of November. He is only on back-up duty at Sixfields, providing cover for first-choice keeper Chris Dunn. However, the German youngster is regarded as one of Europe's most promising shot-stoppers and is thought to have a glittering career ahead of him. He will be desperate to get his first taste of competitive action during his time in League One, and will now have until 31st January to force his way into contention. Zieler will also be hoping that United have no need to act on the 24-hour release clause they have added to the deal.
