Manchester United youngster Craig Cathcart has joined Plymouth on a six-month loan deal.
The highly-rated central defender has yet to make senior appearance for United but is tipped for a bright future at Old Trafford.
The 19-year-old spent time on loan at Royal Antwerp last season and has now been allowed to link up with Plymouth for the first half of the new campaign to gain further experience.
He has agreed terms at Home Park and will be available for Argyle's Championship opener against Wolves on Saturday.
"Craig is a big centre-half that we have been watching from afar," said Sturrock.
"He is a good centre-half with good qualities and you don't play for Manchester United if you're not of a very decent standard.
"I'm very happy to bring the boy on board and it is up to him to get himself in the team."
