Lyon have secured the signing of Nice midfielder Ederson for a fee in the region of €15million (£11million).
Ederson has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the club, but is expected to be loaned back to Nice for the rest of the season, before joining permanently in the summer.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has spoken of his delight at landing the 22-year-old Brazilian, while claiming that Ederson turned down offers from Manchester United and Real Madrid to join the French champions.
"He could have signed for Manchester (United) or Real Madrid, but he preferred OL," he told the club's official website.
"It is a sign that the club has grown, that our credibility is growing."
Ederson adds to Lyon's January recruitment following the recent signings of Marc Crosas, Cesar Delgado and Jean-Alain Boumsong.
