Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung remains confident of returning to action in the New Year. The South Korea international has been out since damaging cruciate knee ligaments against Blackburn in March. He underwent surgery in America over the summer, and is happy with how his recovery is progressing. "At the moment I am trying to recover as hard as I can," Park told the club's official website. "Recently I started jogging and step-by-step I am moving closer to a return in January. "I am not yet training with the other players. At the moment I am training alone." Sir Alex Ferguson brought in a number of attack-minded players during the transfer window and Park accepts that it will be difficult to break back into the team. But he believes he can still play a major part for United in the second half of the season. He said: "Competition is fiercer than before with the signing of players like Nani. It is important that I have the confidence to perform to my best when I return."
