Mikael Silvestre feels he deserves a place in France's World Cup squad.
Mikael Silvestre feels he deserves a place in France's World Cup squad, but concedes he is not certain to be picked.
The Manchester United defender was recalled to the French setup for the March friendly against Slovakia after 18 months out of the team.
Silvestre believes he performed with credit in the surprise 2-1 defeat and hopes it will secure him a spot in Raymond Domenech's 23-man World Cup squad.
Though the left back is not taking his selection for granted, he acknowledged he would be upset if he did not travel to Germany.
"I have no certainty to be among the 23 players' list," Silvestre told L'Equipe.
"I am not convinced of being in, but I deserve to be in.
"I consider my performances for my club and in my last international match against Slovakia.
"But that is only my feelings.
"If I would not be part of the French team squad, I would be very disappointed."
