NEC Nijmegen are planning to raid Manchester United in the summer for Adam Eckersley.
The Dutch outfit have decent relations with their United counterparts, as they currently have David Jones on loan from Old Trafford.
They are keen to keep Jones on loan next term, as he has made such a positive impression, and are striving to bring his team-mate to Nijmegen.
NEC are on the lookout for a replacement for Jeffrey Leiwakabessy and they have been tipped off as to the talents of Eckersley.
Eckersley is currently on loan at Royal Antwerp in Belgium, but NEC are hoping to lure him to Holland on a similar deal.
NEC clearly feel they can tempt United into sending them the player, and securing a spot in the Uefa Cup via the play-offs and the Intertoto Cup could tip the balance in their favour.
