Blackpool have signed two players and let a midfielder leave Bloomfield Road on loan.

The Seasiders have signed Manchester United midfielder David Fox (pictured) on a free transfer, while Coventry City midfielder Neil Wood has arrived at the League One club on a month's loan.

The pair's arrivals have prompted Blackpool boss Simon Grayson to loan midfielder John Doolan to League Two side Rochdale.

Fox, 22, impressed The Seasiders with his displays in United's reserve side this season, having also acquired first-team experience while on loan at Shrewsbury Town and United's Belgian feeder club Royal Antwerp.

He has signed an 18-month contract with the Lancashire outfit.

Wood, 23, will have the chance to impress his new club during his initial four-week spell after falling out of favour with The Sky Blues, having also enjoyed a spell with Manchester United.

Both players should be available for Saturday's crucial home clash with fellow League One strugglers Bristol City.

Meanwhile, Doolan leaves Bloomfield Road for a month-long loan spell at Spotland and should be available to Dale boss Steve Parkin for Saturday's trip to Mansfield Town.
