Injury problems for Lille

Lille have injury problems ahead of their trip to face Manchester United.

Lille have concerns over a number of their players ahead of their clash with Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

The French outfit have endured a stuttering start to their domestic campaign and have had their European plans further disrupted by a bout of gastroenteritis that has swept through the club.

Five players have been affected and are doubts for Tuesday but as yet, the club have yet to reveal the names of those struck down.

The woes of Lille coach Claude Puel have been further compounded with news that Yohan Cabaye and Stefan Lichtsteiner are struggling with knee ligament and ankle injuries respectively.

''There are some uncertainties about the team's composition,'' Puel conceded to L'Equipe.

Puel believes his side are coming into form after a slow start to the campaign, confident that an impressive performance at Old Trafford could yield the type of result he is looking for.

''We go to Manchester to score a goal and we will see if that is enough,'' he continued.

''Against Benfica and Villarreal my players showed an inhibition. It has disappeared little by little.

''I think we need to concentrate on the game rather than what is at stake.

''Anyway, I need 11 warriors.''
