Manchester United have rejected an increased offer from Besiktas for Brazilian midfielder Kleberson.

The out-of-favour schemer had earlier been the subject of a failed £2 million bid from the Turkish giants and their latest offer has also fallen on deaf ears.

Kleberson, also a target of Celta Vigo, has struggled to ever establish himself at Old Trafford since a £6 million move from Atletico Paranaense two years ago.

The 26-year-old has made just 30 appearances in two seasons beset by injuries but Sir Alex Ferguson is loathe to make a major loss on the player.

Ferguson believes the player still has something to offer and should they not receive a suitable bid, the World Cup winner looks likely to start the new campaign in England.

"There have been offers even while we have been here," said Ferguson.

"We had another, improved offer from Besiktas yesterday but at the moment we know his value.

"He is a very good player, an excellent footballer and he is wanting first-team football so we're prepared to listen to some offers."
