Roma are offering a new contract to Gianluca Curci to fend off rival interest from Manchester United and Monaco.

The young keeper has admirers from The Premiership and Ligue 1 and Roma want to tie him down to a professional contract this summer.

Milan have also been alerted by the Italian's possible availability as he signed a contract with Roma that, although lasting until 2009, was only worth a relatively small amount of ‚é¼2,000 per month.

Talks have started with Curci's agent and a fresh deal worth up to ‚é¼250,000 a season could be agreed, which will prolong his association with the capital club until 2011.

Roma have joint-ownership of the rookie shot-stopper with Palermo and need to resolve that before confirming the deal.
