Sir Alex Ferguson has warned Rio Ferdinand that he will not be "messed around".
Sir Alex Ferguson has warned Rio Ferdinand that he will not be "messed around" over the defender's contract negotiations with Manchester United.
The England international continues to stall over signing fresh terms at Old Trafford and Ferguson is not happy with the delay.
"Rio's agent is apparently out of the country," stated the United boss.
"There is nothing much we can do about that but, when he gets back, we want a decision.
"It is important to the Manchester United fans that they get one.
"We are not going to be messed about.
"We have shown great faith in signing these players and we need to see it returned."
The harsh warning for Ferdinand shows Ferguson's determination to quash any speculation that Chelsea are stalking the England international.
Ferguson is in an uncompromising mood regarding contracts after knocking back claims from Roy Carroll's agent Francis Martin that the Northern Ireland number two might yet commit his future to The Red Devils.
"Roy Carroll's agent has been talking to the press but he has not spoken to us for months so we don't know the situation there," he explained.
