United going for a Song?

Manchester United are rumoured to be keeping tabs on Alexandre Song Billong.

Manchester United are rumoured to be keeping tabs on Alexandre Song Billong, the nephew of former Liverpool defender Rigobert Song.

French sources claim United have sent scouts to watch the young midfielder in action this season, and it has even been intimated that The Red Devils have already enquired about a price-tag.

Song has broken into the Bastia team and impressed by adapting quickly to Ligue 1 level.

The Cameroon-born starlet is enjoying life in France's top flight and learning from the experience.

"I feel myself more and more at ease on this level," he stated. "Because I am well supported [by his team-mates].

"All my team-mates speak to me non-stop.

"They have more experience than me and I benefit from their advice."

The tough-tackling 17-year-old has picked up three yellow cards from only eight starts this term, but has featured in 15 games overall for Bastia.

His uncle Rigobert (pictured) also represented West Ham in The Premiership, as well as playing for United's North West rivals Liverpool.
