Goalkeepers Ben Williams and James Jowsey have been informed they will not be having their contracts renewed and will leave the Premier League giants on June 30.
Williams looked to have made the breakthrough into the senior United squad last season, when he was on the bench for the opening five games of the season, but has since fallen down the pecking order.
The arrival of Tim Howard has further restricted opportunities for both players and it has become clear that neither would make the grade at Old Trafford.
The third casuality of Ferguson's squad pruning is reserve team striker Neil Wood.
The Manchester born hit-man has been blighted by injuries in his time at United, suffering from a blood clot on his thigh, a fractured skull and a knee injury.
