Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is open minded about who will take the goalkeeper's jersey for next month's FA Cup final.

United States international Tim Howard took to The Premiership like a duck to water earlier in the season and seemed set for an extended run in the team, but he has been replaced in recent weeks by Roy Carroll.

It had been suggested Ferguson had decided on giving Carroll the nod, but the former Wigan man was at fault for Birmingham's goal in United's 2-1 win on Saturday.

The wily Scot is now considering handing Howard another chance to shine, saying the jersey is still up for grabs against Millwall.

"The goalkeeping decision is going to be a difficult one for me," said Ferguson. "Tim Howard has had a great first season and then recently Roy Carroll has had a good period.

"They will both get their chances and we will have to see."
