United are well off the pace in The Premiership and out of the UEFA Champions League, with the FA Cup their only chance of securing silverware this term.
French defender Silvestre believes United's disappointing season is the result of Scottish tactician Ferguson's activities in the transfer market last summer.
Silvestre admits the loss of David Beckham has taken a key creative cog out of the side, while hinting that the likes of Kleberson, Eric Djemba-Djemba and Cristiano Ronaldo have not proved their worth this term.
"A lot of new guys have come in but they haven't delivered in the way we would have hoped," Silvestre told the News of the World. "We've gone through a dark patch and teams have moved ahead of us while we have stood still.
"Now only a miracle would allow us to win the league and that is wrong."
Commenting on the sale of Beckham, Silvestre added: "Beckham was vital as he passed the ball to perfection and created chances for the rest of the team.
"He was so accurate it was like he had a hand instead of a foot and we do miss him despite what some may think.
"His absence isn't the only reason we have dropped our standards, but it is definitely one of them."
Silvestre, who has been one of United's more consistent players, could well find himself in hot water with his Old Trafford manager, who has taken players to task in the past for airing their views on the state of the club in public.
