The South American has struggled to clinch a regular first team place at Old Trafford since his summer move and Parreira feels somebody who, in the coach's own words, was always the first name on the team sheet in the year of the finals in Japan and South Korea, must improve on a poor 2003.
With Republic of Ireland providing the opposition on February 18, Kleberson gets the opportunity to show he has enhanced his game since arriving in England's Premiership.
"In 2003, he (Kleberson) was not the same player who shone in the World Cup," confessed Parreira.
"He had personal problems, confusion, the transfer (to Manchester United) and his head was not focused on the international team.
"Now he has ups and downs but it's better than in 2003.
"We would like to rediscover that player."
