PRIMERA new-boys Real Murcia are interested in taking Manchester United goalkeeper Ricardo on a season-long loan.

The former Real Valladolid custodian has proved something of a misfit at Old Trafford and now finds himself fourth in the club's pecking order behind Tim Howard, Fabien Barthez and Roy Carroll.

Murcia boss Joaquin Peiro is keen to land an experienced shot-stopper as his side prepare for life in the top-flight.

Peiro has instructed club president Jesus Samper to open negotiations with the Premiership champions over an extended loan deal after seeing moves for Barcelona duo Robert Enke and Roberto Bonano fall through.

"This weekend everything must be resolved," Peiro said of the club's bid for Ricardo.
