CHELSEA are thought to have revived their bid to sign Leeds United keeper Nigel Martyn.

The 36-year-old initially rejected the chance to join the big-spending West Londoners, but Danny Milosevic's decision to snub a switch to Crewe Alexandra in order to fight for his place at Elland Road has dropped a huge hint that either Martyn or Paul Robinson could be on their way.

As England international Robinson has pledged his future to the troubled Yorkshire outfit, after a move to Aston Villa collapsed, it looks as though Martyn will be the man to depart.

Chelsea are reportedly discussing a £500,000 transfer with Martyn with a view to replacing knee injury victim Jurgen Macho.

The former Crystal Palace number one will deputise for Carlo Cudicini if the deal goes ahead.

Blues boss Claudio Ranieri remains on the trail of Manchester United's Juan Sebastian Veron who, for all Sir Alex Ferguson's protestations, could still become a Chelsea player at the weekend.
