FABIEN BARTHEZ and Juan Sebastian Veron are both in line to feature in Manchester United's Champions League tie with Real Madrid.

The Red Devils are already missing suspended duo Gary Neville and Paul Scholes, so the news regarding their foreign stars is a boost for Sir Alex Ferguson.

Barthez sustained an injury whilst failing to deal with the free kick that led to Henning Berg scoring for Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

The French keeper was replaced by Ricardo at half time and the Spanish substitute flattened Andy Cole only to superbly save David Dunn's resulting spot-kick.

Veron has been sidelined since injuring his knee under a challenge from Leeds United's beefy Australian striker Mark Viduka.

The creative forces of the Argentinian will be required to help unlock Real's defence as United look to overturn a 3-1 deficit from the first leg.

Influential forward Raul is out for the visitors, but United face a tough task against the reigning European champions.

"Seba (Veron) has been training and hopefully he has a chance," revealed Ferguson.

"Obviously, though, I have to consider the fact that he hasn't played for so long. It's a big decision."
