SIR ALEX FERGUSON hailed Ryan Giggs after the Welsh wizard netted a brace as Manchester United secured a fine 3-0 Champions League win in Juventus with Dutchman Ruud van Nistelrooy adding the third.
Giggs, who came on for the injured Diego Forlan, was left nursing a thigh injury and Fergie admitted he would have to wait and see if the wide-man was fit for the Worthington Cup final against Liverpool on Sunday.
"European nights have never been a problem for Ryan," enthused Ferguson.
"He has been excellent on many occasions and this was another example of that.
"He has wonderful balance and can attack the defenders very quickly. I didn't want to use him but Diego Forlan got injured and Ryan turned out to be our match-winner."
Mikael Silvestre, Wes Brown and Paul Scholes are all doubtful for the final and Giggs has now joined that list with Ferguson adding: "I am worried about it but we will have to wait and see how he goes on."
Ferguson also added that Silvestre had suffered a "slight recurrence of his injury" and he also must sweat on Sunday's Cup final.
