WALSALL boss Colin Lee has dismissed reports that he made a loan bid for Manchester United rookie Kieran Richardson.
It had been suggested that the young midfielder, who scored his first United goal in the Worthington Cup win over Leicester City last year, was targeted by Lee as he looks for some attacking width and punch.
However, the Saddlers manager has declared that he has made no approach to Sir Alex Ferguson despite being impressed when watching the former West Ham youth player in action recently.
"We have not made any enquiry for Kieran Richardson," Lee told planetfootball.com.
"I did tell somebody that I'd seen him play, and he did well, but he's in Sir Alex Ferguson's first team squad, and so we didn't bother making any enquiries."
Richardson is also currently skippering United's youth team, who are still involved in the FA Youth Cup.
