ROTHERHAM UNITED have handed a trial to two Manchester United Under-19 starlets and an Ipswich Town youngster.

Ronnie Moore has selected the youthful trio in the reserve side to face Oldham Athletic, and will be running the rule over the prospects.

After failing in a bid to sign Birmingham City's Bryan Hughes, who is joining Leicester City on loan, Moore will be hoping to uncover what he is looking for during the second string clash.

The Old Trafford duo are Kalam Mooniaruck and Chris Humphreys.

Mooniaruck is the Yeovil-born youngster who was poached by The Red Devils in 1999 after training with Norwich City as a schoolboy.

United went to great lengths to sign the wide midfielder, arguing their way around the recruitment rules by suggesting he could be within their catchment area because of the time it takes to fly from Stansted to Manchester.

However, the 19-year-old could be on his way out of the club, along with stocky teenage striker Humphreys, who is also on trial at Millmoor.

The third player is Ipswich's Robert Dickinson, a ginger-haired midfielder-cum-striker, who was born in Leeds, and who may welcome a return to Yorkshire.
