TOTTENHAM have denied an interest in Manchester United misfit Jordi Cruyff and Bristol Rovers youngster Nathan Ellington.

Sunday tabloid gossip had claimed Spurs were keen on Holland and Catalunya international Cruyff with the former Barcelona midfielder out of contract in the summer and available on a Bosman free transfer.

Cruyff has admitted that he is set to quit Old Trafford after being frustrated with a lack of opportunities under Sir Alex Ferguson but a return to Spain or possibly Ajax would appear to be his likeliest option.

Rovers hit-kid Ellington, although overshadowed by the superlative form of Jason Roberts and Jamie Cureton, has been attracting attention from bigger clubs but Spurs have dismissed the newspaper link.

"These stories are both incorrect," stated Director of Football, David Pleat.

There have also been whispers within the game that George Graham will become an option for Chelsea if Gianluca Vialli returns to Italy. Insiders at Stamford Bridge claim The Blues feel his defensive know-how could prove crucial to a future Premiership title bid.

For the moment, however, that talk remains highly speculative as Graham, although possibly frustrated by limited funds in the transfer market, is on a lengthy contract at Spurs.
