We look at the possible candidates to replace Tim Sherwood as Tottenham manager

The worst-kept secret of the year became public knowledge on Tuesday as Tottenham parted company with Tim Sherwood, but it remains to be seen who will be next in the Spurs dugout.

David Moyes - 10/1 Unlike the above, Moyes is free agent after his disastrous reign at Manchester United came to an end, but would Spurs be willing to give the Scot an immediate shot at managerial redemption? Putting aside his spell at Old Trafford, Moyes all but once failed to achieve Tottenham's top aim of securing Champions League football during his 10-year period at Everton, albeit with a far smaller budget. As mentioned, Spurs seem to be convinced that an attacking style is the way to go, so Moyes' reluctance to deliver the fast and fearless football could work against him. Sky Bet's Paul Wiggins said: "If we were looking at this market at the same time last year then Moyes would probably be right at the head of the betting but his appeal has certainly dwindled since that doomed spell with United." The outsiders Thomas Tuchel (20/1) is probably the least known name in the betting but he has built an impressive reputation in Germany, leading Bundesliga minnows Mainz into the Europa League before parting company with the club. Once odds-on favourite favourite Louis van Gaal is out to 25/1 as it appears more a matter of when than if he will be appointed as Manchester United boss, while Massimiliano Allegri, Roberto Mancini, Roberto Donadoni, Jurgen Klinsmann, Luciano Spalletti and Roberto Martinez are each priced at 40/1.
